Hi,

My '78 shortbox chevy 4x4 had a TH350 and NP 203 transfer-case in it. I am converting to a 205 fixed/fixed yoke transfer case. I have heard that I might have to relocated the crossmember forward a couple of inches to account for the small T-Case (205 is smaller). That is very easy, of course, but is there a difference between the NP 205 crossmember and the NP 203 crossmember when both are used with a TH350?

That sounded unnecessarily complicated....basically, when I change from a 203 to 205 what crossmember change, if any, is needed?

Thanks,

Merc359

You might have to widen out the slots that the transfer case mounts to on the crossmember, I did.

Mine bolted right in, no modifications at all. 1977 k5 with a 203 stock, and swapped in a 205 from a '74. My crossmember had one fixed hole and one slotted hole.
