rebuilding my np203 to get it ready for the doubler and lo max. just wondering how you guys took off the snap rings, tried using some craftsmen snap ring pliers but broke them. :doah: they don't have the usual holes in them to make the snap ring expand. so hoping you guys could give some insight or tools to use? also, when putting the pushings in, do they have to be pressed in or lightly tapped in? i'm thining the lightly tapped in, but not sure. thanks ahead of time.

p.s. or any links to some 203 rebuild tech :D

BTT for ya.

btw, where did you get your 203 rebuild kit.... NWF?

A QUALITY set of snap-ring pliers is very helpful with those thick snap-rings. I had some Blue Points off of a Snap-On truck that worked great . The Craftsman stuff does not seem to cut it.

The bushing should be able to be tapped in but I used a press in the past.

cool beans. My cases are all torn down too.. just need rebuild kits and to get my 205 bored out for the big bearing and I'll be on my way. NWF is the only source I have ever seen for a range-box-only rebuild kit. :dunno: Lost of full 205 ones out there (ebay!) for decent prices due to competition... but for range box builds, NWF has the monopoly it seems.
