if you can take the extra money and get a set of cable shifters from nwf then you dont have to worry about the adapter and getting the shifters working right

hmm never seen that before...

but while we are on the subject on clocking 205s, any 6 bolt round 241/208 clocking ring should work on a round pattern 205 correct?

sorry for the hijack

hmmm, i've been looking for this... thanks...

You will have to clearence it for the inside shift rail.

and you will have to clearance the adapter for the shift rail.you have to use a 465 round 205 adapter for the boss for the shifter (unless your running a th400) which are getting very hard to find.i found one one here for 100 bucks

yea i figured id have to clearance it out for the shift rail... i have one from behind a th400 with the adapter but im about to do an ORD doubla so no need for the adapter

OK so i got a Little lost with the round pattern or turbo 400 combo and notching.

With a 465/ 205 combo, what about a shifter i think it should be easy to make work with the clock up. Maybe just add some hiems and a rod instead of the factory bent linkage.

Do you think notching is in order for this combo, If anyone has or gets one post pics and link it from here so i don't miss it. Thanks

that's a cool deal. been wondering about it too. simply because i'm feeling lazy at the moment to search, does anyone have a quick link to fabbing your own cable shifters for a 205?

nfw makes one i was looking at last night, 280 not a bad price.
I'm waiting to see pics of one installed, i cant find a pic any where i don't know if enough people have herd of it yet.

O.k. soo has anyone bought bought one of these clock rings on ebay for a 205 yet? Interested to see if it works.

hopefully I'll be picking up the figure 8 one in the next couple weeks....

I emailed the guy on ebay with the clocking ring for a chevy np205 a few questions and here is his response.

"Hello, this is is Dustin from Dustin racing. we are located in Eugene Oregon.
The Chevy 205 clocking ring is only for the 6 bolt round pattern from 1986-up. we also have a clocking plate still in production for the NP205 1971-1985 with 8 bolt "racetrack" bolt pattern. which should be released by the end of the year. Then theirs the ford 205 clocking ring which will fit all ford np205's.
Both clocking rings have been tested and abused by locals in our area as well as our staff.
There are no input shaft mods needed.
At this point the clocking rings rotate up or down exactly 2 inches. we hope to have more options in the future. I can be reached at [email protected] for any custom orders.
I hope i have answered all of your ?s. if not feel free to ask.

THANKS
DUSTIN
DUSTIN RACING."

So does anybody now of someone that makes a clocking ring for a figure 8 style 205?

thats not them... 4x4machineshop is the one that makes a figure 8 clocking ring..

nope, but it's about #2, or 3 on the priority list, right behind some more tube... next couple weeks hopefully.. and i ASSUME they'll have one... :wink1:

Cutting the Tailshaft??????

So I have a figure 8 clocking ring for my 205 and the spacer to put it behind the 700r4 I have. Question is, With the clocking ring being 1/4" thick do I need to trim the tailshaft of the tranny? I would think not but before I get this torn apart and ready to go in I'd like to have all my ducks in a row. Anyone tried this yet, I've searched and haven't seen anyones replies about it.
