Np205 front output seal

Installing seals from my ord rebuild kit

Going from 10 spl front output to 30 spl with flange

Can't figure out which way the seal goes, springs on both sides

Comparing to other seals looks like rubber side goes towards flange

Any help? Thanks

I put the steel side out. I haven't done a 10 or 30 spline front shaft in a while but isn't the rubber side soft and flexible? So if you were to use a seal puller and the rubber side was out, it would just tear the rubber. Steel side out, it will grab and come out.

I used ord’s kit also and I think I used a different seal from the kit. Do you have one like this?

That's the 2-1/8 seal for 32 spline, the other shafts use the smaller seal.

Isn't the seal @Recon 78 is holding for the tcase adapter, the spud.

Ah, I misread his first post. I read 30 as 32. Doh!

Had a spare from a 203 seal kit so i cut the rubber side

Think you're right obi, the rubber fills in the hollow side of the metal ring

Not the spud seal, but it sure does look similar
