I screwed up my shim while trying to put my transfer-case back together. I found a place that sells the shims but I have to buy their whole rebuild-kit to get the shims. I already have a rebuild-kit and I don’t want another.
So, should I reuse these shims or buy the whole rebuild-kit?

Whats a rebuild kit running these days?- it's been awhile. I have a d-mount parts only case with the idler still in it. The case has no input or output in it now, just the idler. Is it hard to remove? I'm not a member so can't PM you about getting the stuff you need to you. :tongue1:

I wouldn't reuse those shims and you shouldn't have to buy a whole rebuild kit to get new shims. Getting them from an old case may be a good way to go.

Remember to check the thickness of the shims and the play in the idler gear once you reinstall it (.001-.002" IIRC).
