I think he may be referring to the wording being off... Front output, rear bearing retainer? If your front output bearing housing looked like that I would think you were building a "SHOW TRUCK" with no front driveshaft.
I believe Chevy offered two different 3 speed manual trans in front of the NP205, a Saginaw and a Tremec. They are not many of them around or info about them either.
Then the GM employee who came up with the wording didn't do a good job in matching the naming to the bearing it represented... Line 76 is "rear bearing front output shaft".
Either way, I think everyone should know what your talking about.
