NP205 shifter rattles anyone?

Now that you gave me that, I've got too many choices! :)

To me Delrin would seem to be the best bet to keep rattles down without having to worry about noise if some slop manages to creep in, plus seems to be better selection in regards to flange thickness and so on in Delrin or PTFE.

But I'll have to get the OD of the stock bushing to see if anything will be a "drop in" first.

Edit: beat me to it! Is that a standard design practice, if the ID is 3/4", OD is typically 1"?

man, some ridiculous price differences. The one you show is $9.25 for 5, the next one down is $7+ for one! I'd only have to sell one for a couple of dollars to break even with the 5 pack...

If you can't find a drop in part let me know... I'm good at sourcing stuff like this. If push comes to shove I do know a couple people with a lathe as well.

You ever heard of a place called "Allied" or something like that, local to us that deals in this sort of stuff? My dad mentioned it, but didn't know much other than that.

I'd rather go someplace with part in hand to check, vs buying 5 and waiting a week, to find out they won't fit.

If you take good measurements you don't have to guess ;) But Applied Industrial Technologies I believe is the place your talking about. I have one of their shipping boxes sitting on my desk at work...

All the ones I have fixed with the bicycle inner tube where old style. One of witch my friend still owns and drives its been 7 or 8 years still dont rattle. The new style,Im willing to bet, simply taking out the metal sleve would fix it.

On the NP205 shifter does any one know what size spring washer or wave washer is needed for the shifter bolt?

I found a guy on FB that offers replacement bushings to get rid of the factory rubber and install his bronze bushing. It takes all the slop out and stiffens up the feel.

I'll have to look for the post and name on FB and see if he still makes them. I still have spare parts in my desk drawer at home and can get pics later. He also makes direct replacement shifter bolts, too.

Not sure if this link will work here but if you're on FB then you should be able to view the bronze bushings:

Even though it shows SOLD the guy still makes them so just send him a DM.

Try this:

Copy & paste from his FB ad: Check me out on Instagram, mi_np205_guy Located in Sanford MI. I have solid brass shifter bushings for newer NP205 shifters (1985-1991) with the rubber bushing. To my knowledge that rubber bushing is not reproduced anywhere. Upgrade to a brass bushing you can slide in and grease and never worry about again! Works with the stock shifter bolt. $35 per bushing (price is for the bushing only). NP203, NP208, K30, K20, k10, divorced, dana 60, square body, mud truck, new process, np 205
