My blazer is having all sorts of trouble and it never seems to end...

I put an np205 in behind my th350 a couple months ago and its barely been driven since.

today i went out and messed with it some and drove it down the gravel some. Will not disengage out of 4hi. I put it in 2hi and front still spins(i have no front shaft at the time) so i grabbed a good size stick and stuck it through my floor hole and it snapped quickly.

If i can get the engine running right and make sure my tranny is still good(i cant keep a tranny for the life of me) i will be ordering a twinstick to end the guess work of the shifter and use of front only.

Any ideas??

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully that is true. I should have a shaft built next week for it. we shall see.

I find the detent between 2HI and 4HI isn't very positive. To get 2HI I used to pull it all the way back into 4HI and then give the shifter a little bump forwards to get 2HI. It took me a while to get the feel for just how hard to bump the shifter forward. It sounds like you're in 4HI to me.

im doing what youve explained Rene. Its a pita getting worked. But i take the shifter boot off and watch. I get it till the 1 rod gets pushed in as far as it will go before the 2nd goes in also.

Weird...have you tried reversing after shifting out of 4 wheel?
