NP205 wont shift into 4lo

Have a recently rebuilt NP205 that I bought from someone locally. It has a twin stick setup and the selector shift rail was modified from the previous owner. The front drive will not go into low range no matter where rear is shifted (H, N, L). I was going to remove the selector shaft rails and inspect it. Anyone have some ideas on what else I can look at?

Look and see if the front shift fork is actually on the collar

sounds like somthing was not put together correctly . and never bench tested also .

Think I figured out the problem.

Notice where the synchro ring is on the wrong side of the larger gear? Causing everything to be out of wack.

Yep, gear on backwards, we've pulled apart a few of those like that over the years. I would check everything else over really close while you're in there.

Flipped the gear around, inspected everything else, got it back together. and its finally shifting. Thanks for all the suggestions!
