So I've seen several people asking lately (including me) about the 208 SYE kits out there. I just received my kit from Tom Wood's today and thought I'd post up some pictures. I think this was the correct way to do an SYE on a 208, especially for my application.

noob question, why do people swap from slip yoke to a fixed yoke? under flex wouldnt you want some adjustment in the driveshaft?

With a fixed yoke the slip is in the driveshaft itself, it has a splined portion that allows differences in length.

The real problem with a slip yoke is that it's trying to make a change in the length in the driveshaft which is at an angle (and much more of an angle if the truck is lifted) while the slip yoke can only move horizontally. And of course a fixed yoke will have a longer driveshaft which means less angle on the shaft.

I'd like to do one on my 241, but the cost of the kit plus the drive shaft kills me.:(

I know you can do a home made square front shaft, just need to find a way to do a cheap rear shaft.

I don't know what access to different stuff you have Justin but there are cheap ways to do a rear driveshaft if you a welder grinder and a couple driveshafts laying around. If you are careful they usually end up being very close to being balanced, at least if they were balanced previous to the mods

superduty!!! 1350 cv stock f350 front driveshaft. and some rears too, but they are in the 50 inch range.

i have a 400/205 and 14 bolt in my k5, roughly 7-8 inches of lift and it fits great.

So you're using the front drive shaft out of an F350 as your rear shaft? What year model F350 would you look for?

Hi here,

Sorry to bring up old stuff...but I am looking for photos of this kit. But yu photos don't show anymore.

I am in he Netherlands, so I can't return parts or shipping will kill me.

So I am thinking about cutting my tailhouse myself and fitting the seal in there.

The original, housing also has a bushing at the end of it. Does the short housing also have that? Or just the seal?

I'd love to get as much detailed photos on it as possible.

Hope you can help me? Especially of inside the tailhousing
