Hey gang,

So i may have asked this before, but i am noticing a weird howl coming from the trans/tc case.(Np241c/4l80e)
you can only really hear it when accelerating, it seems to go away when the accelerator is released. I say howl as best to describe it. but it increases with speed. things I know ar an issue, Input seal on TC needs replacing, it will fill the TC with fluid. TC has a leak from the tail shaft( i think)...anyhow i am just curious if this "howel" is from a bearing or something more sinister. i will try to get some audio later today to demonstrate.
thanks in advance!

First eliminate the ujoints as the cause. Work your way from the tires up the drivetrain. Could find something silly. 241 bearings are generally pretty resilient.

yup. I would bet it is Ujoints. Specifically your joint at the case on the rear driveshaft. When you are off the gas, the angle on the driveshaft will change.,

Those symptoms can sometimes be from the ring and pinion in the rear axle. Loose pinion bearings can change how the pinion is riding depending on if you are on or off the power, so I would check there too.
