My gosh darn Nuetral Safety switch is goin out on me. Sometimes I cant start my rig for a good 30 tries, with each time me shifting down to 1st, then back up to park and turning the key. I'd just like to disable it or wire around it. Is it possible?

It would be much easier to just replace it. Had the same prob on a '76 Nova. Part of my prob then was the tilt steering was waaaaay loose. Try starting in nuetral also, but w/ foot on brake. You could bypass it, but not very safe. On old iron like my '73 you can start in in gear. (manual) You know right away it's in gear. The thing with an auto is the engine starts and winds up, THEN the tranny kicks in and launches you.
