just above the where the 465 bolts to was these numbers. 14015445. on the left side.

anyone know what they mean? thanks

14015445 is the casting number, some are 4 bolt main but not all. Good luck. :wink1:

14015445 = 78-90, 454, 2 or 4 bolt

"High Perf" means nothing...all big blocks have this.

this was from a 85 cew cab. didnt see anything that said truck

It wouldn't say "Truck" just because it came out of a truck. "Truck" blocks were in heavy duty appliacations, dump trucks, busses, etc.

Blocks that say "Truck" have a higher deck height.

Tall deck=10.2"
Short deck= 9.8"

Tall deck motors were 366, 427 or 454 cubic inches. The extra deck heighth was for a differnt style piston. I believe it had an extra ring or thicker head.

I really don't think its a 4 bolt. I have one out of a c30 and its a 2 bolt. My camaro 4 bolt is from a power unit.

Interesting, I've got a 5445 block from a Suburban and it's a 4 bolt. Luck of the draw I guess. :dunno:

Could be the year too. Mine were all 78-79 except my camaro which is a 88 block.
