So I'm throwing a late model NV3500 into my blazer and have a few clutch related questions.
I'm doing hydro pedals and internal slave.
Flywheel- 168 tooth from a 2 piece rear seal engine to match mine, correct?
Clutch- do I need one from the same year as the transmission or from the engine/flywheel?
Any recommendations on a good clutch to run?
Internal slave- same year as trans with adapters for -4an lines?
I also saw a swap they referenced using a 2004 gto slave that already had normal fittings on it, only saw it once tho.
Anything else I'm missing?
Thank y'all for any help.

Just buy a clutch and flywheel for your year and model of engine. The NV3500 uses the same input shaft spline count, length and diameter as an SM465 does.

You can hook the internal slave from the NV3500 right up to your factory hydro clutch master. They play nice together and provide an excellent clutch feel.

Fwiw, while researching my swap to a hydraulic set up on my 465 I found quite a few posts saying you have to use a diaphragm type pressure plate, not a 3 finger. Never found a hard reason why though.

I'd avoid a 3 fingered pressure plate regardless if one would work with hydraulic clutch--after my sour experiences with them I would only use a diaphram type if I were to put a clutch in..much less pedal effort, and they work as well or better than the 3 fingered ones..
Maybe if the hydraulic clutch has the internal slave cylinder/throwout bearing, the 3 fingered pressure plates are too stiff for the cylinder and stresses it out too much ?..

On the slave I had the stupid quick connect chopped off and a fitting crimped on at a hydraulic line shop.

Bad news.

Dude got flaky on me when I went to pull the tcase and told me he wanted $250 for it! It has 230k miles!!! (This is after he told me "ya man come get what you want, ill sell everything cheap") I said good luck and walked away.

He said he would sell the whole suburban for $500, but I have nowhere to put it.

I know where there is another possible candidate for your crossmember at a salvage yard, I will definitely check for you. Have you been to the Barry's or pick-a-part in Mobile yet?
