helping do a blazer up for my friend @manchildau65 and he is going for the 4"-5" suspension range and 1 ton's with his current combo from the old k30 truck we built years ago .

the nv4500/205 is a stock long input 205 with the spacer from advanced adapters . it worked in the struck to keep the drive shafts the same length .

now we are swapping this combo in the blazer and i will be welding new perches on the rear axle to make it fit the k5 / k10-20 spring spacing and possible pinion rotate up or down as needed .

sh should me ditch the spacer and swap in a short input gear and make it as short as possible or leave it ? i figure with the 4-5" lift range this might be good to remove or stay . just not sure yet . any good feedback from others who have this combo would be great thanks .

I say remove the spacer just to rid you of the hokey pokey all thread.

In a blazer it's not that big of a change. With the doubler though, that made me want to stretch the rear.

ya i was figuring swap the short input in and ditch the spacer . i dont build k5 blazers as there all but rusted away around here and i my self dont do short wheel base so i figure just ask the reg guys who do have this combo .

fyi : for anyone searching the spacer is 1-5/8" thick overall .

we have made the choice to remove the spacer and swap the input gear to the short input to make the trans / t-case as short as possible for the blazer build .

thanks for those who helped with input .

Sounds like you already made up your mind, but in my opinion I don't think you need to remove the spacer. I have that exact combo in my V3500 (NV4500 to NP205 using the AA spacer). As you alluded to above, with the spacer it makes the overall length the exact same as a TH400 to NP205 combo. In my blazer I have a 700r4 to Titan Box/205 combo which overall is a little bit longer of a setup, and everything is fine. Driveshaft angle is still good in the rear, and no issues at all.

Again, it sounds like you already made up your mind, but just to throw another opinion out, I don't think you need to remove the AA adapter at all, I think you could run it on the blazer and be totally fine.

good info thanks .

when i removed the t-case half the studs/all thread come out on the 205 for the spacer . i had even lock tighted them in place . he had not even drivn this truck more than a few 1k miles at most .

i know the rear shaft gets to be funky at times on lifted blazers so i was thinking make it as short as possible . but i will pass along this info and let him make the choice .
