Im now running an 88 tbi swapped 5.7 motor with the matching 88 computer without an o2 sensor. it runs very rich and i'd like to install at least a single wire o2 sensor. question is where in the computer do I run it and what other things must i do other than hooking up the wire? thanks

ok, lets simplify. Stock 88 tbi's ran o2 sensors, so I should be running one, correct? If i have a stock computer from an 88 tbi do i run the o2 sensor wire to the computer?

The O2 sensor is absolutely esential to have your TBI run correctly. The ECS relies on the feedback of the O2 to make adjustments to the fuel tables and ultimately the injector spray. Running w/o the O2 will prevent the motor from running in closed loop and should show a "service enging soon" warning light (I think it is error code 42).
The O2 sensor should be hooked up to a single purple wire. The wire should, ideally, be in a wire loom near the driver side exhaust manifold. You may need to pull the ECM and trace it from there.
