Off Road Light Mounting

i have two hella 500s mounted behind a chrome square bar grill. plenty of room. i chose this location because i like to push stuff with my truck since the body/front bumper are fubbered

That is what I was geussing... I thought maybe there was a new word out now that I have never heard of, hahaha.

I mount mine on the roof on my rack. Im in the midst of putting a tube bumper on my truck and will mount two more on it. Im pertty happy with the outcome, I get a good flood of light out in front of me for about 250 feet or so. :D

I just drilled holes on the top of my front bumper and mounted 2 there. Then I got a push guard on the front with light mounts, so I moved them to the mounts. I need to do reverse lights on my K5 next. Any suggestions?

Brian where did you get that roof rack?

I found it in someones back yard and bought it for a couple of bucks. Its an old confer rack and it came off of a suburban. Took the solid aluminum floor out of it and fabbed up some mounts and away I went. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to make. Its just half by half square tubing

P.s. Sorry for the momentary thread hyjack.

I"m still working on getting those pics, Chris, just been busy with my new shift at work. Will try to get them today after work since it's my "Friday". :woot:

I finally got them moved off of the hood. I was sitting at work looking at my truck and finally figured it out (with help from a guy with a dodge ;) ). Bent up some brackets... and now they are where I originally wanted them. I think they look better.

Edit: and now I can see better. Next project might be the hood scoop.

You would want that thing? Or chop it up for scrap metal? Either way, pm me with an offer and I'll consider it . What do you think about the new light configuration? I like it better and it lights up more not having the scoop in between them only giving them half range. And the lights are up higher. The only down side is they are connected to the doors and will not be able to be on the truck with the doors off. Do you think you could photo chop the scoop by taking off the top half and leave the bottom half (with the back cut like a cowl scoop) so I could get an idea of what it would look like?
