It's been lovely, but I have to scream now.

Well not really but it helped. Poor porcupine! He would have wandered off.
No to be quite honest I have been very lax in deleating and moving posts unless there was an actual complaint or it was ugly in some way (language, bickering). I will admit I'm guilty of making a few off topic posts myself like the jet powered beer cooler (got to make one!).
I got thinking about it and I figured the issue was there were not a real set rules to judge if a post was appropriate for the area. Most were pretty well unspoken.
For the most part the folks here are great about keeping the content sorted and staying on topic. I'm amazed at how well this many people get along. However if there is no rule then I have a pretty shake peice of realestate I'm standing on when I do have to move or delete a post.
Last thing I want is to hurt the great comrodery of the fine folks of this site. CK5 has become HUGE and with the massive amount of traffic there is bound to be a few head on's and there has to be some order to keep that under control. I just felt it was time to give myself a set of standards to use when things get out of hand. This way I can make sure I'm fair and even handed when a post has to go. It is only appropriate and fair that you folks are aware of what I'm looking for that will get a post moved.
Thanks for the suport!

#5 Roll call. I hate these! I won't even move them I'll delete them. We have a Bio feature use it.
Now I don't have a problem with " Hay any GA people here that want to go wheel". That's fine, take pictures.
Open roll call with 3000+ members isn't. CK5 has a Bandwidth issue and a post with 2500 replies doesn't help.
I covered it.

No problem with getting trail rides at all. It's not a roll call it's a trail call. Just have to post the pictures so we can all see!

I agree with all of those selections.

I am guilty on all counts! I have used the F-word plenty of times, BUT, when I use it on the boards, I spell it out as 'fock'. Does that matter or not? I mean, sure, people know what I'm saying, but I'm 95% of the time using the word wisely! I am not using the word to degrade or find fault at anything, but just showing my frustrations on something I have seen, done, or dealt with. Such a way of using words in spelling like I did, is only an implication.

Now, I agree using any cuss words is not good, nor wise, but when someone uses it in the right manner, then I'm all good for that. Such ways to use cuss words shall not be used against anybody. Its simply ignorant and disrespective.

I have said it before and I'm saying it again: I have no problem with people who cuss, as long as they use the word(s) properly.

Its not everyday you run into someone who cusses like the 'infamous' Andrew Dice Clay, but when I come across anyone like that, BAM! I'm out the door!!

no problem grim, I think you're posts on this have been well thought out, and very fair... I'd think if anybody has a problem with them then they got problems themselves! LOL

Agreed with all of your input.

Let's see how long we can sustain it now.

The Off-Topic board is way too crazy to read any more............gotta get two things - first a cable modem setup so I can surf faster and secondly MORE TIME to read all the inane stuff

I have yet to see or read anything that offended me in any way.
I really have no problem with (to an extent) a HINT of vulgar language, or nudity. Fact is, I'm saying, doing, or thinking it every 15 seconds, so whats the big deal?
I'm just kidding, the "soft" rules work for me.

I think you're asking the wrong person about the lenght of posts. I'm sure Mr. Grim-Reaper has the record for post lenght. Not that I'm complaining, on the contrary, I think long, detailed posts are helpful, as long as they are about fixing something in our trucks, and he sure does some good posts that deserve their own webpage.

I don't like long posts that are all about "I'm pissed because...". I think it's OK to vent a little, but not as long you're writing a book.

Well, that's my opinion. Let's see what our moderators have to say about it.

Well put and I think 100% fair!

One other item I would like to kind bring up here is the manner or attitude in which we read posts. Seems like people are flying of the handle lately about every little thing and every little comment is out to personally offend, putdown, and anger them. Come awn! I don't think many people are out there trying to piss off people so try to not fly off the handle and go on a rage cause so and so said your brand tires suck or whatever. Most of the stuff is on opinion stuff and you ask for it you get it, so try to respect others opinions and if you feel it is wrong politely point it out... Take your pisted off energy elsewhere and try and leave the bad stuff in the outside world there and try not to drag it in here. As the old saying went... "think before you post" Just my $.02 here... I dunno how everyone else feels about it.
