Offers on your truck

That's a shame. I would have paid you. I have everything except fenders to build another shortbed.

I need a long bed stepside to round out the fleet. But the wife probably would kill me. And I do need to get my own crap finished first. Plus the new house... So yeah, I can want...

Are the fenders the same between long and short beds?

June is coming, June is coming...

I have driven some real pooches before. A street queen doesn't need big gears.

The last offer I got was from some kid that drove up in a 500 dollar ramcharger. I laughed and said multiple that offer by 5 and I'll sign the title...

He wanted to give me 1500 bucks...

6.2 diesels are boring

No,not when the crank decides to split they aren't !..:yikes:..

Quite a few people have come up to me at a gas station or a grocery store parking lot to ask about my truck--they want to know if I put a diesel in it,and most are surprised to learn it was indeed a factory installed one,-"I didn't know they HAD diesels that far back"...
A few guys said "I had one of these years ago--wish I'd kept it"..

Or they want to look at the 8 foot stepside bed,(which is getting pretty rough, and may end up being removed soon),and they say "I never saw an 8 foot one before"...

I had a few gas station attendants run up to me and a few guys filling up next to me yell "HEY--that's DIESEL FUEL you know",as I went to fill it up..
Then I say "Well,I dam sure hope it is!--truck HAS a diesel engine!"..

No one has made a decent offer as far as wanting to buy my pickup or Suburban--I got some "give ya $500 for it" offers, told then nope,I cant buy another "yard truck" with a plow for under a grand around here,so why give it away ?...
A few guys were interested in the 6.2 and I told them "trade ya for a good running carberated 350 or 454!"...they had none to trade though, and they wanted it for like 200 bucks--nope,it'll stay in the truck till it blows,if that is all I'd get for it..junkyards want 500+ for one that runs, because they are getting scarce here now..

You guys and your boring cookie-cutter builds. :doah: :sign3:

What this place needs is more variety. Whatever happened to the guy who was rebuilding a Saab? Or the turbocharged Volvo wagon? It's the spice of life, man...

Well get on with it then... I don't see you doing anything non cookie cutter...

Show us the way

I need to get a couple boring trucks sold first, then I'll be off to the next project. I have a few ideas already, but I'm always open to suggestions. Oddball family cars is the direction I'm heading at this point, out of necessity. I think a late-model TDI powerplant shoved into an older station wagon would make a fun sleeper (for a diesel guy). Even more so if it's something boring like a Sable wagon, because nobody would expect that.

I've had the guys who run the salvage yard I frequent say they'll give me $75 a ton for my truck just about every time I go there...
Har-Har-hardy-har- har...:surepal:..

More than once when I go to park it,they ask "are you leaving it here,or plan on driving it home"...came close to having an employee scoop it up with the forkloader once too ,thinking I was scrapping it!..:yikes:...NOOO!..

I now park outside the gate on the side of the road--not in their parking lot!..
