Official Golden Spike trail run for BB14

So I guess what we're saying is Canadians are accepted as long as they drive a rolling repair shop? Sounds reasonable to me.

Russel is solid then, actually we should give him more crap about it, he might just go ahead and install a welder on board :D:D:D:D:D

Why?

YOu got big ol' tares, heavy duty front rear and rear rear axles, some of them big lift springs, and that new fangled fuel injeectionnn stuff mounted up.

It's just a short little drive.

Dave's part of the group I'm calling Fourteeners. I've noticed quite a few planning to come in 2014 more than I can remember ever planning for a specific year.

That all started w/ Eric's idea of bringing our rigs w/ a square body tow vehicle.
Oh and my stalling til I can raise some funds for fuel.

I think it's fun. Next year's shirts should say something about being fourteeners.

I'll be there next year again for sure!

And a square body tow rig eh? I do have a 496 that needs to go into something....

If all the cool guys are going I guess I will run it.

But can I be in the slow group

No, there is no slow group

it isn't a race honestly, but I do intend to keep an upbeat pace as much as possible.

Think Lunch at the Crack and Dinner at Moab Brewery, on the same day we departed and by around 7:00 at night :thumb:

A few years ago I ran it with a small group (4 rigs). We left the trail head at about 9AM, had lunch at the crack and we were back on the asphalt by 2PM.

We even stopped for pictures a few times.

But I am going to try it this year. And I am sllllllloooooowwwwww.

I am assuming I will have to winch over a couple of places. But if I can get over an obstacle in 3 tries, I winch. None of that trying over and over stuff. I know my trucks limits.

Guess I should register.

I just got registered today and my on board welder is still working great. We used it last year on this trail and I got to use it again this year on Golden Spike welding up a Jeep that ripped his rear axel off! Lol both made it out without breaking again so we did something right.

There's actually a good portion of the trail that you're ideally set up for. There's about 15 miles of just rough dirt roads on the run.

We piled through the whole thing pretty dang quick in 11 when hauling a busted RZR and mail order bride back to town!
