just scored a Dana 44 housing and knuckles on EBay for $25.01. still got 4.10s and a carrier in it. now time to start searching hard for a K1500 shortbox frame.

SFA here i come! :D:D:D

Hmm, not a bad deal, but not as good as the deal I got. A complete, 77.5 HP44 heavy duty (big hubs) 4.10s, 100% complete, for FREE!!!! All I have to do is go get it. It's not going anyway, so no hurry to get it.

picked up the '44 on Saturday, SUBFAN's boss picked up the BBC for him, and the LT1 for himself, and left me with the 700R4/241 out of SUBFAN's 'Burb. i promptly went and spent the cash i got for the LT1 on a K1500 frame. should be picking it up tomorrow. :D

bare frame sitting in driveway, SFA brackets here, ORD shackle flip here, waiting on springs, still hunting a rear axle. thats about it. once i get my springs i'm going to have to make a set of shackles, as Off Road Direct doenst understand that you cant get a 3.5" wide spring into a 3" wide shackle.

check out Sky Manufacturing if you want a cheap SFA swap.

have they listed it yet I was on there site the other day and there was no mention of it

nothing just checked it . how much?? what's included? for what length springs?

here's what i got out of them...

hanger kit is 300, steering is either 375 for crossover or 675 for full high steer.

I don't yet have any pics, the front hanger is a complete crossmember, the rear shackles are currently strait shackles that hang from a shackle hanger in side the frame. Its all 3/16ths up to 3?8ths steel. laser cut, cnc formed, etc.

assuming 88-91 springs, or 73-87s just like everybody else.

i bought the Off Road Direct SAS kit, overall, not happy with it. did some more test fitting, and its not right.

got an email in to the owner of Off Road Direct. we'll see what he does to correct the problem.

This is one reason i did everything myself a proven way. if it was f'd up, im the only one to blame:o

i would have, but i dont have a welder readily available.

i talked to Sky from Sky Manufacturing today, probably going to go with his kit, which is loosely based on the Toyota full width kit. lesson learned, stick with a company who has a good reputation.
