First they put on FOX 2.5" internal bypass shocks on the rear of them, and 80% of the owners buy the raptors and instantly remove all the shocks and go with something bigger and better..... :dunno: Leaving people like me to scoop up shocks that Fox sells for about $600 a piece new, for about %25 of that price

But now it just got even better, the 2017 supposedly will have Fox 3.0 internal bypasses :woot:

So I guess that means some time around 2018 the blazer will be upgrading from 2.5s to 3.0s

Oh I love rich dumb people lol. I mean seriously, buy an f150 and throw the shocks you want on it and be half the money in for the same truck minus a few blingy items...

The 2.5s i have on top, the new shocks on the bottom. It would apear the piggyback is still about a 2.5, but the shock body is 3.0. Not much info yet.

I'm sorta going REALLY? But then I get back to reality and realize, yeah they can be that dumb.....

So are you going to start a side business? You could help others!

I already have a full shock mount kit to mount them in the front of these rigs with clearing the steering shaft (cant do the ford towers because the shocks are way to bit to fit between frame and shaft).

But im all about these things. I just finished my mounting of my rear ones. I bought 4 rear raptor shocks for a total of $700 2 years ago.

This is basically the exact same shock for about $1300 a pair new.

Don't the Raptors get some kind of wicked engine option too?

I think the current ones get a 6.2 v8, im not sure if its anything crazy though... I think ive heard like 400hp or so :dunno:

I think its just an NA engine, but i could be wrong. They normally dont rip that part out and put them on ebay for dirt cheap so i wouldnt know :haha:

This new one will have a 3.5 v6 ecoboost.

Maybe I will just buy a wrecked out raptor and slowly turn blazer into chevy raptor???

supercharged 6.2. Supercharger might be an option, but I thought it was on all of them.

Edit: Supercharger seems to be a Roush option.

Could very well be. Honestly I dont care much about the raptors, other than I cant wait to smoke them in the dunes using there own shocks

blasphemy
how dare you not use an LS :shame: :deal:

Oh you know I will go LS lol. Way too simple.

Rich stupid People are the best Kind to know!

Its very true!!!

Im not saying every guy that buys one does this, but Ive helped a couple people buy a full set of 4 for under $800. All you need to do is wait and watch ebay. They pop up with good deals all the time.

Internaly bypass shocks are really cool IMO. They work pretty much the same as an external bypass, just not as many options, and harder to adjust because you need to tear the whole shock down to do adjusting. (external bypass is all on the outside)
But they are a bit more compact and easier to shove in a tight location..

I also like to remove the stupid needle filling port with a standard 1/8" npt shrader valve.

You're not getting all you can out of those ORD's... :D

I was told on the front ORD springs that they are good for about 11-12" of travel before you start to deform them. I have my bumps setup to use just about every bit of these shocks up front.

In the rear my shocks are angled a bit so im betting ill be able to play with my shock mount hole locations and squeeze 14" of travel out of ORD 52s. (gonna run the stockers for this summer with air bumps spaced down from the cans to see what I can get out of a stock set of 52s, but with everything welded in to work for the ORD springs).

Chris at ORD told me my springs would use "all of a 14" shock". I redid my mounts for 14's up front. In the rear I have 11's now, but they are bottoming out too soon. I'll probably go to 12's and live with it.

Have you checked to see what happens when the axle goes free up front? I assume the shocks are the limiter unless the driveshaft hits something first. I'm still figuring it all out, but pretty sure I'll need straps if I don't want to damage my shocks over time.
