i am about to change out my oil cooler line it came in today from napa. my question is do i need to put any teflon or anything on the threads to keep it from leaking or can i just install them as is? thanks any input would be appreciated.

The oil lines should be a saganaw fitting. Replace the O ring or re-use the old one. That is what makes the seal the threadded fitting is what holds it in place. NO TEFLON.
