Oil leak help. Super odd.

On Big blocks I use a broken hack saw blade to hold up the rod, get fuel pump in and slip blade out

I just pulled the rod out, wiped it off, coated it with a couple small dabs of assembly grease, and pushed it back in. It stayed right where I left it on its own.

I normally don't take the plate off, unless it needs new gasket

Threaded plug under the pump hole to get the rod in and out.
