raise all the breathers, don't forget the transmission. silicone the dizzy cap. dielectric grease in the plug boots. Move things like coils and air cleaners inside the cab

I thought you were SCUBA.... why bother with a snorkle?

Other than that....what are you doing for exhaust if the engine dies?

NO, I've had them get out of round when they get wet, I would make one maybe 3/8" wide from some thicker gasket material.

how about form a gasket? or silicon instead of the gasket?i realy don't want to hydrolock a new engine.

best advice for waterproofing is Stay out of the water.

I always laugh at guys with snorkels. if the water is really that deep you are going to be swimming in the cab. by the time the water gets to the carb and distributor you are knee deep in water in the cab. you really want to keep going?

I agree with moving your breathers up. an oil bath filter will help keep splashed water out of the carb. remember oil and water don't mix.

If you are going to do it make sure the fan is electric and run off a switch. you don't want that hitting water. there is no way to seal your alternator without it getting hot. water can wreak havoc on a wiring assembly so make sure all you connections are sealed.

Tuperwear everything including yourself and get a really big tuperwear container and then put 4 holes so your tires still work then you'll be fine!!!
