I've asked a few times and gotten no results, so now I am BEGGING, yes BEGGING.

If you have a sliding window topper, I need the two tiny screws and they are not all rusted out (I gotta be able to put them in!) which hold on the black plastic latch to the metal arm on the sliding glass piece. I will send you $20 via PayPal to mail them to me. EASY MONEY!

I'm desperate now because obviously I can't lock the truck and - of course - I forgot and left my radio faceplate on and - of course - someone stole the damn thing by opening the sliding glass window.

Sure they could have broken the glass, so that's some consolation, but now that I had to spend $150+ for a new stereo I would REALLY like to be able to lock my truck.

Soooo .... can you help me? Please????

I'll look tonight. I know i have the sliding topper and i know i dont need any screws on it, but let me check and make sure they're still there. I'll post up tonight with what i find.

***meant to say if mine work i'll just send em out. my topper is sitting on a bush right now and will realistically never go back on. dont need any money for it.

I got a new latch/lock with hardware through rock auto for my rear sliding window in my dodge for like $5. Maybe check and see if they have what you need.

I found a place that has the latches so I have those, but - stupid story here - I put them on and forgot to tighten one side. I realize later, but then forget. Put the dogs in the back and when I get home it had come loose and of course my dog knocked the whole thing out the window. I still have spare latches, but no screws! :(

Dumb question but have you tried taking the screws you have and matching them up with some from Home Depot/Lowes? Maybe even try Radio Shack

i should have em, mine are unmolested afaik, i'll check when i get home... with the softtop, mine may never go back on, and even then I have some solids i wanna put in anyway..

no charge...

Good question, actually. I did, but I could not find anything that worked.

Well, I don't have a soft topper, or even a GM product for that matter, but several years ago I replaced the latch on my sliding rear window on my Ford.

The little screws that came with the new latch would not work. I think I used some no. 4 sheet metal screws if I remember right.
Think I got them at a hobby shop.......

But, since I do a lot of work in Electronics, I come across screws like that from time to time.
If no one else helps, let me know and I will see what I have.

I thought about sheet metal screws, but I'm one of those idiots that likes OEM stuff, even though it's a hassle. :D

Anyway, I will keep the thread updated. I've had one or two offers in the past but unfortunately they never came through, hence the cash offer!

Well, my problem is, I don't even know what we are talking about. Are the original ones machine screws, sheet metal, or what?
Also, how about the head? Flat, countersunk, hex?

I do a lot of work with various screws, if all else fails, I may be able to match them up with something I have.

well, i just went out in the rain to try and get em for ya.... i take it these are the 2 running thru the inside bracket right next to each other.... I can't even tell ya what they are... mine are little balls of rust... couldn't even make out a phillips head to it...

I'm betting some #6 self tappers would work...

Can anyone link a picture of the slider piece he's looking for that will have the screws? I've never even looked inside my topper

i'm 85% i opened something similar to that when i first bought this truck.

i'll keep ya posted, look for an answer in about 2 hours.
