Ok, read all kinds of threads on the drac and a 241, couldnt find what i need

Here is from my Drac

And here is from the "conversion box" for the cruise and, I assume, ECM.

What I'm thinking is the yellow goes to the cruise, the red is positive ignition, black is ground and the brown....ECM lead. Sound Correct?

If this is the case, is this the only ECM input for the VSS??

Could I use these red and black wires to power up the DRAC??

Yup, that is correct! The ECM VSS wire is the brown wire, and the cruise control VSS wire is yellow. You can use the pink / black wire and the black wire as power and ground for the DRAC module, no problem.

The ECM only has 1 wire going to it with the VSS signal, same with the cruise control and the speedometer. Of course, you will need to run a 4000 pulse/mile signal wire to your instrument cluster as well (just 1 wire again). Just to make sure you are aware, the newer electronic speedometer instrument clusters do not have the same connector pin out as the 78-89 mechanical speedometer clusters do. Before you plug it in, trace the circuit sheet on the back around and change the pin out as required. Finally, the DRAC has two wires running to it from the magnetic speed sensor in your transfer case. They are not polarity sensitive as the signal generated is AC (it is important to make sure the wires are twisted together to prevent noise interference, by the way! Don't untwist them until you are right at the DRAC and the sensor)

Cool, thanks Russell. I studied the circut board last night and they are definitely different. What I determined was I can swap over my old circut board to the new cluster housing and then just manually connect the speedo.

I think I'll start a new thread with pics and everything so others can see what I got and the installation process. I appreciate the help man!

I would stick with the new printed circuit and adjust the wiring on the connector instead. Very easy to do, and will leave you with a few spare pink and black ignition / ground wires
