Old Iron 2.0

Round tube is what Chevy uses on newer silverados for rear under bed crossmembers
The new frames are rectangular tubes though, right? And their tube are welded straight into/through the frame rails.

I am going for simplicity and strength but I'm no engineer either... I don't want to cause myself issues down the road but I sure as hell don't wanna box any part of this frame lol.

A few parts came today.

New TRE's/DLE's and pitman arm from DIY4X.

Pittman arm is reamed from the bottom for better drag link angles.

Took the TRE's/DLE's that I ordered from O'Reillys back to them sometime last week I believe.

The ones I got from ECGS are going to get sent back soon (those were wrong too...)

Since I'm using a WFO arm Kert wants me to get the crossover arm and pitman arm installed with the DLE's inserted to take measurements for a bent draglink.

Thinking about ordering a set of those 11511 6" springs and a set of EZ-Inches (EZ-Inches for the 64's) to get my lift all fixed up and leveled out before I order the Tie-Rod and Draglink.

Local guy with the nice doors is getting impatient with me since I haven't bought them yet, which is totally understandable. Said he needs the money pretty bad so I said if he posts them on CL and someone buys them there's no hard feelings.

Found out I have like 5 right hand jam nuts and only 1 left hand so I need to get one of those too.

So why aren't you using tie rod ends for your tie rod and drag link ends for the drag link? Those are all appearing to be drag link ends.

They are all DLE's.

That's what Kert said they use for both the Tie-Rod and Draglink and I don't have any reason to doubt him about using them. I test fit them in the knuckle holes, perfect fit unlike the other 2 different sets that I purchased.

Local yard has an '83 K10 and an '86 Jimmy.

Going to pull some 52" springs after my morning hike and see if they have anything else useful in there.

If you want to add a plate without a stress riser (which personally I don't think would be a huge issue)

I would just put a reverse round out (round in?) on each end.

Like this, excuse my poor drawing.

It's being bolted in though, not welded. I really can't see there being an issue?

It will bolted flush to the inside of the frame rails.

88-90 something 2500s, the 4x version with 6 lugs. You know, bastard axles

Shoulda grabbed that damn tranny hump out of the truck with the 465... Somebody grafted a mess into my 2wd cab lol.

I'll be back soon though, that 465 will end up in my garage.
