old school tube bumpers

I'm in NM and about 60% of people here don't have insurance, but that bumper you got there looks like you're taking out a little extra insurance... if you know what I mean. I've got a big bumper on the back of my truck that everyone at work calls my "uninsured motorist bumper". That's a good looking bumper you got there. Old school is a good thing.
yeah, someone would have to have something big, like a MACK to jack up my bumper.1/4 inch plate all down the side of the frame.big and stupid.:haha: :haha:

This is about the best pic I could find that the wife has taken. I'll get another one tomorrow. But it's 1/4 inch steel and weighs about 90 to 100 pounds. Just a standard farm truck bumper though, but I've got my *ss covered. Been practicing with my welder still, eventually I'll have a tube bumper. I always have thought that they looked the best and if you build em right, worked the best. Some people put air in theirs, I haven't decided if that's something I want to do yet.
Edit: the pic was taken while I was painting the truck.

that looks great brother.:D we might put air in mine.its mostly mud around here so the valve would prolly be packed with mud and I am a fan of having air in my tires when in the mud. i've never seen how airing down helps in the mud?tall skinny better that throwing mud just for fun.i had 40's on another truck and would through another 10 lbs in my tires before i went and i followed 44's NO problem.:dunno: maybe it was just me but after hundreds of times it always worked.:D

Was that comment directed towards me? Just wondering... let me know if it was, or else I'm just lost in the conversation, all the words too confusing... no offense taken:D

he even gave me a 2wd gearbox... hence making my xover easier :wink1:

anyways.. I modded my rear one... will do the same on the front once I get a front winch.. that aint gonna be for a few more years!!!!!
