This one will stick around.
I tend to go through vehicles. I know that. But I'm kind of sick of that. I've been waiting for the right thing to come around.
I initially was holding out for a 4 door .... Something :dunno:. Wasn't sure what. It's just easier for family to enjoy that way though.
I found out about this 2 years ago, and didn't think much more about it, more than it was just cool. Hadn't even seen it.
When I finally seen it last year, and he mentioned a price, I started really thinking about it.
He's a good friend of mine, an older dude, and has some physical limitations due to a bad motorcycle wreck in the 80's.
This has sat since then. And he just doesn't have the tools or ability to do the things it needs.
He sold it to me for super cheap (in my book anyway) because he knows I have those things and will treat it well.

Sorry for the long story. Here's how I first seen it

Those A-bodies are really cool. I like Chevelles but that body has a lot more curves and character.

Which engine does it have?

Looks like a pretty solid survivor car at least. I’d clean it up and make sure everything is safe to drive and go cruising.

How it sits today. It's still on the trailer in my shop.
It's first time in daylight in 34 years.

He lovingly wiped it all down, inside and out after we made the deal, but before I picked it up. With tears involved I'm sure.

Infact when we picked it up he didn't want to hangout like normal. We had strict instructions to get it loaded and get the F**K out of there so he could drink the night away. Lol.
He'll get to come up and see it's progress and help wherever he can throughout.:waytogo:
I've told him the when it gets drivable I'll let him take it out if he wants.

It's the 350 rocket.

Here is all of the little things I've found around it.

Pics of interior.
Seats carpet, and rear deck are the only thing needing attention. And I've found all of that in full factory design already.

(Center console is in the trunk)

I have to bounce through my suburban build quick. Then I'll get started on this. So it'll be a bit. Maybe even next year before I do much more than tiny stuff.
I want to get it in my garage at home, so it doesn't become a flat surface to stack chit on. And I need some better roller tires etc.
I told the guy I got it from that I wanted a lift in my shop so I could get the frame out and really fix it up. He said he'd loan me the money to get one at 2% interest... Soo.. yeah, that may happen :woot:

Current plan is to put the LS from my burb build and a 4l80e in this. And bring it back to pretty much it's current look, but with everything fixed up and done right. Maybe some suspension tweaking, but nothing super crazy.
Just want a sweet cruiser my family and me can drive to shows and get togethers, etc. Weekend road trips when the weathers nice.

Not sure when the last time I seen a carb this small on a car was.

Nah. Not really into the purity thing. And it would take too much to get that engine where I want it.
Already have the LS, all rebuilt and chit. It's coming out of my burb anyway. So why leave it sit around.

It’s cool when the original engine is kept, but not being a 442 or something more rare it’s fair game to do whatever. Besides anybody try buying olds performance stuff lately? You could probably ls swap two cars for the price of building a 350 rocket to make ls power numbers.

If it’s the difference between that car getting used or getting stuffed away for another decade or more because of losing interest because the car isn’t as fun to drive or issues with the old technology I’d say swap it and drive the wheels off of it.
