Well I had given up on ever finding the right 4x4 one tone Crew cab. But BAM! It happened and it is well let let the pics talk for it.

It is a 1989 Chevrolet one ton 4x4
454 C.I. V-8 (carbureted); TH400 automatic transmission, NP205 transfer case
Dana 60 king pin front axle / Corporate 14-bolt rear axle with factory locking differential (4.56 ratio)
4 core radiator; Factory transmission cooler; Factory power steering cooler
Hydroboost power brakes
Dual exhaust ( leak free and solid)
Optioned with air conditioning - parts are there, but not hooked up
Bucket style front bench seat with flip-up center console
Brand new dual fuel tanks, 20 gallon capacity each
Rear axle recently refurbished with turned drums, new brakes, seals and gear lube
Steel diamond plate flatbed w/ stake pockets, 2" receive hitch, and welding gas holder
Front diamond plate winch bumper
Sony stereo/CD player with auxiliary input, 6"X9" speakers in front doors
Floors and cab corners are rust free it start and runs drives great and the BEST part is 82,000 miles on it YES! The guy has owned it for 6 years and was going to make a wheeler out of it but you know the story. The bad is Hate the front seat and the guys said neighbor was mowing and mower threw a rock in to wind shield. Also the drivers front door skin has been pushed in. But throw some green paint on it and the box it is ready to go.

If i get turned down again I will post the guys info here some some one in our family can get a nice crew cab that has not been butchered yet.

I checked the RPO slip in glove every thing checks out.

So I have applied for a loan at one bank and was shot down "no collateral and they don't do auto loans on that old of a vehicle". I am going to another bank in the morning to try again. He wanted $3,800 but I got him down to $3,000 cash and I think I can get him down another $100

What a great starting point Lawrence!

If you get it and from your comment above about the nose, I'll go ahead and call dibs on that front bumper if that's what you meant. I'd be interested in it.

Square body fans out here would beg, borrow or steal,to own a truck that rust free, low miles, and BBC + NP205,TH400,D60,etc...it'd bring double that here without much haggling I bet..

Clean nice.

If this is turning into the forest service truck I might be able to get a utility box.

Lemme knows

And yes I know your budget so it's gotta be cheap or free

This truck has a weird engine. If this is a 1989 It should be TBI, but it has an RPO code which claims it to be a 4BBL carb. In one of your pics it even appeers to have a TBI relay on the firewall.

Yea I am not sure it can be made to sit closer so if I can get the loan it will go bye bye.

I did find a box in the weeds south of here in Cortez guy says make offer....

I have to get off to the other bank and try to get a loan. I think honestly I only sleep an hour last night.

Just when you think you know a lot about these trucks there is something new. This trucks engine might have been some "industrial" application of some sort.

There is one quite a bit like this one for sale on the Bloomington, IL craigslist for........$10,000.00 (!) I wish I could find something around here that was worth what the seller wants for it just once.Always double the price around here compared to out west or down south.I am getting tired of it.Anyway, good buy!!

Yes, it was an available option. It was a cab/chassis truck no bed, narrow rear axle.
Rpo code for fuel tank (27 gallons) is wrong, its 20 gallon.
Also willing to bet the g80 in this truck is a Detroit locker.

Really really nice find !

I'd give you a $100, but I have no pay pal. Would a check in the mail be fast enough?

Martin

Awesome truck with killer options. You would probably be better off getting a personal Loan. Most vehicles have to be fairly new to get s car loan. One main financial gave me a Personnal
Loan when I needed it for 5 grand when I had bad credit from losing my house. Maybe try them. I only paid 150 a month back on that loan as well. Good luck.

full

I hope you get the truck you are looking at! If you try hard enough, you will probably get it. The truck you are looking at is a rare bird from what I see of it. By the way, this is my truck (also a rare bird of a Crew Cab) in the parking lot of Las Vegas Motor Speedway at an NHRA event...this could be you.

Sweeeet:cool: That's a lot of truck for three grand. Isn't G80 just a gov loc posi?
In 1986 to present second design is that on some models the brake drum could be removed without having to remove the hub and axle shaft. Additionally, the pinion received a larger diameter bearing while the pinion stayed the same diameter, which increased the durability of the pinion. If I remember right the 14 bolt axle is a full floating. On the G80 one rpo say Eaton others say gov ?????? We I guess I am still in for it my land lord had sold a stick to a guy for $1,300 and the guy stopped payment so he is now in debt and can't loan me the money or buy the flat bed.

I guess it was not meant to be :( oh well life goes on.
