ONE BIG JIMMY "Everything In TX Is Bigger!"

Ok I would like to make a public service announcement!

Putting the new vent window seals in are a complete pain in the rear end!!!

Definitely takes a bunch of time and patience and I’m still not completely happy but they are much better than what I had.

Stay tuned for progress this weekend
Have some help coming and did a little shopping this week for parts.

Looking good

Can you get some pics of the truck with the black trim front/back?

Got the intake made
I think it turned out great

So I ended up buying the Airaid U build it tube
Part# 100-400 it is a 4” tube that comes with multiple bends and you can cut what you are needing.
I also picked up 4” Spectre silicone couplers.
They come with bands.
So I need a reducer to go from the 4” tube to 3.5” outlet of the MAF.
Spectre had that as well 4”-3.5” worked great.
Then I used a piece of the factory flex tubing so you can take the lid off the air cleaner for filter replacement and not have to loosen the tubing.

Got the power steering issue figured out as well

Pulled the new reman pump off and found that there where no bolts/studs holding the pump to the tank allowing the fluid to pass the seal

I went ahead and installed a new pump due to the lack of time.

Also tried to start it and I’m not getting fuel
Now the fun of diagnosing.

You guys should see a pretty decent push out of me to get this one going.
I have a show here in the DFW area I am going to try to debut the build at on September 10th.

C10’s in the park
It’s a pretty decent show and I think it would be a good local run to have it at.
2 days... I assume your working around the clock?

It seems that way but the show was moved to the 21st back some time ago I forgot to correct it.

At this point I’m pretty sure I will not make the show due to some other issues that came up like at trans leak and some parts delays but I’m still pushing ahead.
Little disappointed but I really want it to be right and not piecemilled just for a show.
Been working to hard to take shortcuts now

After trying to get the fuel pump that I replaced a while back to wake up I was unsuccessful.
Went out and purchased a new sending unit and pump to drop in the tank.

I went ahead and cut the floor which I did not want to do but it will be much easier if I ever need to service it again.
I’m going to cut a section out of a truck bed that I have and use it to make a cover for the hole and use a gasket. That should take care of the floor.

I put power to the new pump and it pumps fuel now
Bonus!

Now to fix a small trans leak and try to start this thing up

Hey buddy.... sell and ship me that piece of bed floor you cut out. :thumb:

Maybe 6" square. I need to patch a hole that's about 2"x3" that's mostly on a high spot. It's harder than you'd think to find a straight piece in local u-pull-it's. LOL

Wow!!! That is so nice I need to request a picture of your rear end..... :deal:

More specifically: I would like a pic showing your completed shock inboarding kit, exhaust routing, etc.... No rush but thank you!

Will do
Give me a couple of days and I will get it posted for you

I installed my shock inboard kit tonight. I have roughly a 6" lift and it looks like if i lay the shocks at 30 to 40 degrees of perp I could run exhaust tubing between frame rails and shocks.

Do you have dual exhaust and what lift and shock length are you running?

So on the exhaust I did the flow master cat back system 3” single coming off the driver side
That is an awesome kit and it fits perfect
It runs between the shock and spring
I did the same as far as angle but I am still playing with it
I did have to bend the bracket that holds the rear brake line where the rubber line comes down to the axle to give room for the shock body

I did end up with right at a 6” lift with the shackle flip and the crosstie shackles and factor rear spring
Shocks for now I have the rough country 6” lift shocks those will be subject to change after the truck is up and running around
Need the cash flow for other things right now and those are easy to replace and upgrade

But it’s work in progress
