the shackles arent on the frame, i dont know what they are on

Those are leaf springs fastened to the bottom of the frame. Looks like a variation of a buggy spring set up.

It looks like a variation of the 3/4 elliptical setup. Only problem I see is to much rear shackle drop and would make driveshaft seperating a breeze.

But not to bad of an idea, if you have long splined shaft and can deal with axlewrap
