How much thicker are the 1 ton packs than 3/4 ton packs? I havn't seen a 1 ton in the yards around here in a long time...

I'm thinking I may swap 1 ton springs under my burb when I do the shackle flip.. the stock 56's are jacked and sagging badly, they also seem to settle down way to much when towing, even before I put the lift blocks in.

Depends on the pack; I've seen 'em from six or seven leaves up to ten, all on "one-ton" trucks (though with varying GVWR's.)

You could mix-n-match from a new set, too, get a good pair of main leafs and then add leaves from either set until you get the desired stiffness and ride height.

I can't believe I just said "desired stiffness" :haha:

Bookmarked for when I renew my membership on pay day :wink1:

I'm thinking that the 1 tons will be the best overall simply because I'm not after flex, and I think the rear of the burb is a little on the soft side anyways.

i just took the rear packs apart and added two of the longer sized leaves, it helped raise the rear up some and definately helped with the overly soft feel it had.

sits level now and rides firm, and still has some give for the big bumps.

Here are the ones now on my sixpack ... note the *upper* overload:

which then hit the bumpstops -- at least, if I'm carrying Rhode Island in the bed...

Like I said, lots of variation.

Very cool Dremu, thanks :wink1:

Now that I'm not DDing my burb I can take it down for stuff like that.. I don't think I'd need the upper over load in a burb, but the rest I may.

Anyone know what length(and maybe width?) rear springs the 81-97 F250's had? There are lots of those around here.. this is Ford country :haha:

factory style setup on the crew cab dually i have, doesn't look like that now though, alot less leaves, but then again, mine isn't being setup to do any heavy hauling or towing :p:
