oops we had a rollover

yeah well we dont want any trouble with the law. they already want my guns and id hate to give them the truck too

As minimal as the damage is, I would just fix it.

Obviously you need a hood, fender and a door. I would comealong the roof rack off a tree or garage beam. That would bend the roof back up to its sorta original shape. The slowly straighten out the crinkles in the windshield frame with a hammer and dolly. Then pop the new window in. Then Im sure you can just toss the fender, hood and door on and set gaps accordingly.

IMO if you plan on wheeling it more just hammer straight what you can, do some creative hammering /bending to get a windshield to fit and go with it. I guarantee it will get damaged again if you plan on wheeling a fullsized rig.

Fix it and glue the windshield in. Won't leak that way. And fed law says all new windshield replacements are to be glued in. Just had the windshield in the Jimmy replaced. They were going to glue it because of the law. So I paid cash for "chip repair" and I don't get a warranty on the windshield install.

i need to get ya'll some better pictures today of the roof. ill get CK5 to help me decide if its worth saving this body or not

I think it would be easier to buy another whole K5, non running or whatever, and swap all your parts into it. If you decide to make it perfect. It may be less cumbersome than a body swap and you can gain a lot of extra stuff and stuff to sell.

But, being a wheeler, may be best to do as suggested and just straighten the glass hole and get a new glass installed. Then continue to drive/beat/wheel the truck as desired. Leave the mangled metal as is.

One thing you NEED to consider is a roll cage. Now that the roof has caved in once it will cave in easier the next time. You don't need that on your head.

haha well funny story....she rolled over on sunday afternoon and i intended to put the nice 8 point cage i built for it in monday morning because the shops so slow...talk about crappy timing

HOW did your little yellow sidemarker survive!? If I look at mine the wrong way it breaks. EVERY time I go wheeling it gets hit somehow. I have 3 or 4 extras in my collection but I go through them quick!

good luck getting her back to that sexy original look brotha!

lol it still works too. ill save it for the next fender haha. i nean the whole tihng runs fine everything works like it should. i just have a few dings to buff on out haha and the gaping hole at the top of the windshield... but the lightss still work. door is lined up perfectly still with the fender haha

Bet your project planning....

Where's the new pics?

I knew you would be keeping an eye on this one Jeff....:D

Based on what your Burb has been through, you could probably provide some valuable info for the repair procedure.

Your rig still needs more damage BTW to justify a bob......:waytogo:

Ha! I know. If I roll it again, without a cage, It will be a full vert Burb. I need a cage! A cage will be going on soon.

As someone posted earlier, the roof is now weak. It won't survive another roll without a cage.

ive got a Roll cage ready to go. just gotta get the body fixed/swap to a new body and install it. i saw some that were just bolted to the floor but im thinking the proper way would be tired into the frame?

Frame and body. If you are plating at the body, outside plate should be bigger than the inside pate. Also a sleeve through the floor is optimal.

There is nothing wrong with being one of those guys. I love you guys!!!

I had a big steak and a couple big glasses of milk for dinner!

If you can't find a blazer cab, then maybe it's trazer time. I find that pickup cabs are way easier to locate and usually much cheaper. Either that or remove the windshield, wear goggles, and look like badass :D

well i went through the whole what kinda mud truck do i wanna build stage. we go to west ga mud bogs that are open pit free bogs so i like having the ability to carry a good amount of people..girls lol. the blazer works well because it can carry 5 or 6 people and its not as heavy as a suburban when its buried. that being said a truck cab wouldnt work so well. id like to stick with a jimmy/blazer for now
