operation 1 ton suburban...*Head Unit installed*

I went to junkyard and picked up a xj steering shaft. I was going to get a bunmper but they wanted an arm and leg.... Also, I picked up a new carrier and we checked if there were no major runout happing and turned out to be perfect. so tomorrow well get the gears installed :D and the 14b back under the sub.

what arre you going to do with your old 10 bolt?

ok, so were ready to install the ring gear on the carrier and guess what? the carrier is a 4.56 carrier  :mad::mad::mad::mad: always double check the part you get from one of those yards were they pull the parts for u. the funny thing is the guy we got it from said it was a 3.73 carrier :haha:guy must of been smokin crack before we got there.

so I get home kind of pissed off that the axle is still not done after 2 weeks so I try not to think about it to much and I get started working on the dana 60. I got it under the rig, shocks, drive shaft, axle shafts, spindle, caliper bracket and dust shield all installed. ok, so then I take the rotors to go get turned and they won't do it  there plenty thick! I just think there were scared when they seen how massive the D60 rotors are :haha: they really didn't even look at them  I may just run them, there not the smothist but there’s no major gouges on them.

so tomorrow hopefully get the spring plates drilled out for the center pin since I moved the axle forward via zero rates. and mybe cut the front fender fangs off.

I still need to remove the old steering box and install the new 2wd steering box, XJ steering shaft, and install the crossover drag link. that shouldn't take to long I hope  but with the way things are going I forsee some headaches LOL...

hopefully the 14ff will get geared in a few days. that thing is becoming a huge ****in PITA  my buddy is going get this fixed for me since I have no time to go down to his pad and help him work on it during the week. if it goes right I'll pick it up on thursday.

sort of but noting I can really do about it I guess  I was getting at the point were I was going to cancel my trip to BF cause nothing was going my way. but then again nothing does :haha: owell, tomorrow is another day!

Big thanks to jeremy (K5er4life) for getting my 14ff regeared :waytogo: so after I got home from his house today I started puting my rig back toghter. JUst need to fill it up with some fluid tomorrow and it will be done finaly. Now I need to finish up the front end tomorrow. hopefully I'll take it for a test drive on monday :D

well, I put on a high flow cat and fuel filter on the sub and it sounds soo much better :D the cat that was on there was way plugged up. I just spent the day finishing up the rear of the truck tighting up bolts and what not. tomorrow, I'll finally get to the front end. maybe I"ll take it for a spin tomorrow night or wensday for sure.... my rear bumper from blazen offroad should be here by the end of the week or next.

Justin, we need to transport this front bumper. I'm still doing R & P, hope I finish by Fri. but this weekend for sure. Once Burb is running again, I don't have any trips planned between now and BF, unless I need to chase down something last minute from McMaster-Carr or whatever.:D

cool, just let me know. we can meet up half way. it would be good to take my sub for nice ride to make sure nothing fall apart :haha:

Well, today was not a good day but I'm getting closer. First, I crossed threaded the studs that go into the housind for the ubolt plates  so I had to stop drive down to OSH and pick up a 5/8 tap. Luckly I was able to retap it. Then I try to put on the calipers on the dana60 and those things are a bitch and half  so after and hour ****in with them I gave up and decided to order some 3/4 brackets tomorrow. Then I'll be able to use my old brake setup off my 10bolt which is in great shape.... so in the mean time I installed the hubs/rotors on and put the tires back on. It's nice not to see the damm rig on 4 jack stands for 3 week. tomorrow, I'll finish up the loose ends on the front.... then I guess I'll do the brakes early next week.... I'm going to give it a good tuneup over the next few days...... then just wait till my rear bumper comes in then I need to weld in a patch panel on the drivers side...I'll probably have my dads friend do it for me. although I sort of know how to weld I'd rather have him do it for me.

Looking good man. I get my burb dropped off tomorrow and then my hell starts. Already ordered a winch since everyone I go with is a Yeep and most likely would kill itself trying to pull me out of the messes I find. Hope all turns out well and you make to BB. Wish I was on that side of the country then I would attend. Maybe someday.

just the fact that there a ****in PITA to put on... plus there rotors are not in the best of shape and the caliper may not be either.... so for $75 I might as well buy the 3/4 brackets and run my old setup that was on the 10 bolt that were in great shape. dom, are u going to blazer fest?
