Pizza is a waste of money...

Everyone I know that bought pizza said it didn't last very long and was unreliable.]

[/ QUOTE ]
once again temprature comes into question.if tempratures are kept very low,the pizza will last, and be very durable as well.are you sure you have real-world pizza experience? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

If you guys are obviously not REAL pizza experts. Pizza should be HOT, which is why it never lasts. Who the hell wants to eat a COOL pizza.....there's a reason why it lasts longer that way, it sucks!

Now BEER on the other hand, IS supposed to be cold. I find it to be a VERY popular choice, even though the housing is made of aluminum..... /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

hot pizza, while tasty, lacks structural integrity.as far as im concerned, form follows function, and im all about lasting durability.as far as beer is concerned, while the aluminum housing is commonly available,i prefer the thick walled aerodynamic glass version for its superior pourability.no aluminum housings for me.

Glass?......GLASS!? Dude, you won't last a minute of the rocks with a glass housing!!! Aluminum is a much better material for strength.....

If they made beer in a cast iron housing, THAT'S what I'd be buying.

.....and don't tell me about the "updates" that can make a glass beer just as strong as an aluminum one.... or how the later model glass is a much more durable design. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you paid $375 to get the level of trans I did, please for the love of god give me that guys #. Ill take 2

It's a TH 400. The strength is beyond what a 700R4 could ever possibly be built to and it is guaranteed forever from the guy that built it. If you want his number, shoot me a PM and I'd be more than happy to give it to you. I opted to go without a shift kit because this truck doesn't really need one. Obviously it doesn't have overdrive and never will. It doesn't have a lockup converter either. For a daily driven truck it's far from ideal I suppose, but it works great in my tow rigs.

I guess I am different than most folks. All of my trucks are work trucks. Dents, rust, and constant trashing is part of business for all of my trucks. I don't believe in owning something that I can't abuse. I suppose that's why I have chosen to own what I have.

mj,

I'm glad to see that I'm in your club. I doubt I'll ever be as much of a prick as you are, but I sure will work at it.

As to the SM 465, I have my issues with that too. The gears are pretty far apart and the mechanical linkage blows. Other than that though, I don't miss my 700R4 a bit.

You 2 are so full of it. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I just kind of walked into this;

But after destroying my TH400/NP205 (gear-train failure in the 400)

I replaced it with a TH700/NP208

This combo must be close to 400lbs lighter.. I know I did the work, and my truck is now nearly 2.5 inches higher in the front

1978 K20, 32-12.5x16.5 Cooper mudders..3.73 locker in rear..
1989 4-blot 454-HO, , Eddlebrock Manifold, Crane Cam, Heddman Headers..MSD dist and MD6

body lift 2.0in, chassis lift now about 6.00
rear axle moved up 1.5inches

The trans has a 9 plate 3/4 clutch, a HD red Kolene band, five pinion rear planetary, and a Beast drive shell, along with some other minor mods.. it is a 1992 trans, rebuit and upgraded in 1996 by Goodwrench...Running a stock 1600rpm 12in converter..

It will light up at least 3, somtimes 4 wheels.. and will burnout 2 wheels about 100 feet from a dead stop...

it spins the tires into second

It lowered my 70mph rpm from 3700 down to 2600, and increased my gas milage from 6 to 14mpg...

Its cheap and easy to rebuild, I can get it in and out of the truck by myself and a floor jack and I can lift the 70lb transfer case onto the back of the trans by hand...(and I am 61 years old)

Just a point... TH350's came behind 427's and 402 BB's in pick-ups in the late 1960 and early 1970's.. to be replaced by the SB400 the TH400 was an "option"..a newer, upgraded 700 is lighter and stronger than a TH350

I kinda like it .. its a keeper...

I have dealt with one 700r4. It was the stock trans that ended up dead. That was is the year 2000. I had it rebuilt with all the updates at the time. Lasted 2 years just find. My truck was a 1 ton longbed with a 6.2, 35 inch BFGS. I finally decided to upgrade a little and go with some 39.5 TSLson steel beadlock wheels, also installed an ATS Turbo. The trans has not bothered me one bit, other then they keep coming out with more upgrades.
I have beat this truck to death, Havent broke the trans yet.
Since you are the expert 84K10, how much longer do I have before my trans goes out. I need to start saving so I can pay for the new rebuild.
