Opinions needed - painting my grille

What to do with the grille?

  • Repaint the black parts satin black. Touch up. Ignore the not so shiny chrome trim.

Thanks guys.

on the brushguard i moved the bars infront of the headlights over some so they are out of infront of the high beams. Looks good, all black prob would of been too much black.
How'd you move them over?

Yeah, I think the all black wouldn't look that great until I have the thing repainted. Thinking a darker blue or bright blue.

I cut them with the die grinder, moved em over and mig welded them. I had to cut em off then put the guard on and measure how far over. You have it on the truck already so if you wanted to mark them now then take it off and move them over, just sux to take on and off.

Eh, I'm not touching it. Can't weld for **** anyway. I use the high beams about once every third month now.

looks really good AJ.

Mine is actually in worse shape than yours, the PO put snaps all over it for a cover in the winter I'm assuming.. so it has holes drilled in it every so often. My bowtie emblem is cracked too. I might eventually just replace the grille, not sure if I'm going to go billet or what yet. LMC has some nice stuff but its pricey.

Ask around. Guy on here got me a grille for Big Ugly two summers ago for like $30 when I couldn't find them anywhere else for less than $50.

Eh, faaaaar to flash. Chrome don't getcha home.

Uhm...sure bucko.

:waytogo:

I just hate spending money on flash parts that don't do anything.

Yeah, I know. There certainly is such a thing as too much chrome.

I'm just a little tired of hearing the "chrome don't getcha home" as the only reason to get rid of chrome. How about just a simple "I don't like chrome", lol.

I don't mind chrome.

The Blazer would look funny without the chrome bumpers. In fact, if I ever find a decent 89-91 front bumper with the trim strip I'll probably pick it up and swap it over because it'd be correct to the truck.
That said...just don't see the point in chrome doodads that don't do anything.

That black truck is too nice for me... Id end up scratching the black paint all to hell then smashing the nice grill on a tree or something.
