Opinions on this bender....

Having a bending party just doesn't work. Unless you do it for 4 straight weekends. For a full cage I would say you need two days to be done. For example when we had the build and greet at Zimms eric was on the bender and it took most of the day to bend the two rear bars. You will spend more time coping tube then anything. Many trips back and forth fitting etc. Its not a quick and dirty process.

I kind of wish you had brought your bender Jess, same as mine I had to bend stuff and get used to a brand new bender.

Now back to the topic if you have a tube bending party assign jobs, 2 guys bending, 2 guys coping and 1 guy welding.

Usually takes me a couple long days to finish out a cage but I tend to make things as tight as possible so it takes me a bit longer than most

I asked if u wanted me to, but you said no so I left it at home.

the bending doesn't take any time, even manually.. it's the notching/fitting that takes forever....

dusted my HD105 off the other day in prep for a pile of flatbed joy....

me too, thanks.. I'm definitely revved on doing it.. good amount of work and money going into it, but I think it'll be worth it... just trying to figure out, how much and how fast I can build it as this point..

I'm just gonna drive it around with a square tube across the back with lights, flaps and a plate while I build it... f *ck a temp bed or anything... :haha:

off the top of the head ballpark...

tube - $600ish

alum - a grandish...

misc metal - couple hundy...

fuel tank - 6 to 8 ish....

led tails & airtank $????

toolboxes $??????

fifth wheel $???????

but I figure to get the structure and plates done with a fuel tank, enough to be functional and legal, $ 2500 and a month or 2 of weekends, etc... :doah: :haha:

that's alright... :screwy:

I'm also pulling the backseat and making a custom dog enclosure out of 1" tube and expanded steel... flat floor, bed, etc...

hmmmmm, could turn a fullsize B-hoop into a divider...

wha? it's just an extra stick of 2"..... :haha:

male german shepherd, hopefully by aug... He'll be named Malachi... like the dude in Children of the Corn...

I figure fock it, why have him have to jump all the way up to a seat with 5" and 37's.... and 1 piece less to do if I do a black interior swap... I already planned on buckets and ammo can console anyway up front... do a framed window in the center, so he can't get thru, but can do the head hang out thing by the console...

Colby was telling me about the K9's having expanded steel things for back windows, so you can let the dog have air while your in a store or something and it's locked..

That's an awesome Idea....

I might do that for my kid....

:haha:

Its cheap and does full 90 degree bends. I'm not sure what you would need to bend farther than that for :dunno: and it includes 2 dies. If the bend quality is good the price is right and it would fit perfectly in my work area being able to mount on a work bench i have a perfect place for it. Also its down in LA so shipping would probably be pretty cheap for me and Beast in Sac.

Looks kinda like a HF bender though... :dunno:

Well i ordered it because i'm too much of a pussy to go wheeling again without some sort of protection and im too broke to buy a real bender. I'll let you guys know how it goes in my build thread somewhere in the next 2 months hopefully.

Thats the same style dave has. Replace all the bolts with decent grade 8 stuff, and make sure to keep that sucker lubed when bending. Seem to work great for dave.
