Going to eventually plan on rebuilding my 700r4 and was thinking of throwing a shift kit on it was not so sure tho what’s everyone else’s experience thanks just a bone stock 350 89
Always do a shift kit. I like a firm shifting automatic. @folkenheath just set me up with a kit for a TH350, and it works great, shift is firm without being harsh.
I will always go with a shift kit, usually Trans-go. I have a 700R4 that has been behind a big block for 48K. It shifts so firm into 2nd that my wife doesn't care for riding in the truck if I leave it in drive, which bumps the pressure up slightly.
Add the shift kit. I rebuilt my 700r4 w/shift kit and made a big difference. Loved it. I have since sold the 350/700r4 and replaced it with a 454/4l80e. I installed a shift kit when I rebuilt the 4l80e and have no problems. Good firm shift points.
