ORD crossover interference

I use to run these to gain 1/2" of lift. Same as zero rates but shorter. I needed just a bit of lift to level my truck after I installed a winch.

Believe me I wish I had found 1/2”. 1/4 or 1” was what they had so I crossed my fingers on 1/4. Always heard how bad it was for lift blocks up front and didn’t know if shims qualified as such so wanted to stay minimal.

When I installed mine I ran the center pin through the plate and the springs just like zero rates. Lift blocks don't give that option. That's the safety issue.
Also I'm not using these anymore and have them sitting on my shelf if you need them let me know and I can give you a better deal than what you would pay new.

Gotcha. Lemme see if it comes to that. Thx!

So I did flip the leafs around so the large eye is in the rear. Just had to drill out that rear shackle hole that’s sized for the smaller eye bolt. The center pin is dead center so it didn’t move the axles forward or backwards. Without the leaf clamp in the way, I gained another 1/4”.

I don't think I'd run the springs backwards with the smaller bushing to the front though there's a reason manufacturers put a bigger bushing on the front. That part of the spring is a high wear piece, so the bigger bushing keeps it together longer. I think a small bushing will wear out faster.

yes the ord hd shackles and new bushings stopped m springs from banging on the frame

What is wierd to me is that riveted in leaf spring band. I have two sets of lift springs laying around, and none of them have that spring clamp that close to the center of the spring. Both my springs have the band clamp located at the outer ends of the spring clamping together the top three spings only, and not all six leafs.

I swear if I gotta take these springs off again they’re just gonna get upgraded. I’ll get my clearance with arch.

I am leaning toward the springs are the whole issue. Idk what springs they are but they seem to have to many leaves

The issue that I would look into with running the springs with the large end at the shackle is that a lot of springs will wrap the 2nd leaf around the main leaf eye for the military wrap design for the fail safe. So if installed backwards, it could move more, or possibly do other things if you break the main leaf.
Just a thought.

It looks to be a Pro Comp spring. I’ve seen rigs with fewer leafs and thought it was odd. This is the only Chevy truck I’ve had the pleasure of owning so no other experience.

I hear you and saw the same thing as I examined it closer yesterday. I think I didn’t want to notice that when I did it out of frustration. :doah:

I have Tough Country HD front 4" lift springs, to replace the unknown almost 40 yr old lift springs. The TC HD' only have 4 leaves, and are spec'd for 3/4 ton burb.

The pro comp 11411 is $119 ea., at Summit. I have to wonder about quality.
Is listed with 5 leaves

But less leaves don’t equal farther from the tierod. Just my thinking, it all clamps down on the perch regardless. Also, my ORD springs have like 32 leaves and it’s fine.

But I have zero rates, D60, and offset TREs.
Have you put your drag link on yet? Might want to make sure that clears before moving more stuff around. Everyone seems to have little things fighting them and it all kinda comes with the territory. I went to a straight drag link to combat clearance issues and offset TRE because the HD tie rod was hitting my HD diff cover. Lol
