perfect just gotta find a thread chaser im sure ill muck up the endsIf you don't want or can't return you can chop a few threads off ea side, till ya get what ya need
I didnt consider the jam nuts, they do add another inch between the two. I will take apart first then measure twice before cutting but i'm pretty sure thin jam nuts would do the trikIf the stock DLEs worked with the short sleeve, then they aren't touching each other inside the longer sleeve, and cutting won't help. You could cut the sleeve and/or source thinner jam nuts. That way, you're not modifying the wear item every time it gets replaced. Harder to clean up the female thread, of course, but should be do-able.
Is the new sleeve 4 3/4 or is that the sleeve + the jam nuts? I guess I'm surprised if ORD doesn't let the drag link fully collapse, because a too-long DL is a common issue for these (cutting the threads is common once the axle gets moved). They almost should offer 2 different lengths, as you can see how the jam nut design could end up with too little thread engagement for those running a long DL.
If you do cut the DLE threads, you can run the jam nut up it first, so after cutting, the nut cleans the end of the thread. Then file/grind a nice end on it and paint.
Thanks for the heads up, I cut 1/2" off sleeve and 1/2" off DL end worked out perfectly. The ORD Sleeve with Jam nuts are 5 3/4 and Sleeve alone 4 3/4"If the stock DLEs worked with the short sleeve, then they aren't touching each other inside the longer sleeve, and cutting won't help. I am surprised no one else has had an issue or mentioned it, My set up 3 1/2" lift drop pitman arm I can imagine every square has its own needs some shorter some longer I would offer a 4 1/2" sleeve and 3/8" Jam nuts if easy? Either way it feels great now and looks better than that split piece of foilIt's weird how hard that is to find on their website: https://www.offroaddesign.com/dragl...length-threaded-7-8-18-r-l-with-jam-nuts.html
No description of how it compares to stock or what to do if the length is wrong. Possibly it's a liability issue to propose modifying the steering parts. You could contact @offroaddesign for advice.
