Has anyone installed the Off Road Design engine cross member in a 72 Blazer? I'm working on one now and will eventually go with a BBC engine and am wondering where the new holes need to be drilled into the frame. i have the later model engine "saddles" and they also need holes drilled into the top of the frame. before i go turning the frame into Swiss cheese, I'm wondering who else has done this and do you have any guidance and or measurements to get the valve covers off the firewall.

I can't help you on the valve covers. I had to drill one extra hole on top of the frame on each side. On mine I had to trim the angled part that fit into the c channel of the frame to fit between the upper part of the frame and the lower. But that may have been a "jimmy" thing.

Here is a link from ORD's website with some pics if you haven't seen it.

In my build thread page 2 post 23 starts my saga on.putting in the crossmember yours should go much smoother.

Get a 90 degree angle drill tool it was very handy.

Thank for all of the help. I’ve also had to trim the corners that went into the frame. I’ll take a look at your thread and try to get mine installed.
