Looking for a 4" shackle flip and rear disk brake kit, who has a better product? Off road design or DIY4x4? Im also looking for crossover steering ( Thinking ORD) and shocks ( which are decent for about $100 each).

Can't go wrong with either but I do my like DIYs design a little better for the shackle flip. If you ever want to change shackle length it will be much easier with that style. But either way they will both work great and not let you down.

I would say DIY 100%, but for the simple fact you plan on already ordering from ord, I would order theirs just because it's from the same place.

Keep in mind, strength isn't really a concern because both are proven tough, but DIY's kit allows very easy shackle length adjustments.

the external shackle of Kert's win's it for me hands down.. props to ORD's original design and equal quality tho....

I like the shackle design of ORD better personally, just seems stronger in my mind. Could be wrong, but just my thought.

Both are small businesses that stay running because they produce great products with the kind of personal service that large companys can't provide. Pick one. Call em. Get some parts. I'm sure you will be more than satisfied

It's nice to call a company, have a real person answer, and talk to them about every aspect of what you want without them having to ask somebody else or transfer you. I haven't ordered from DIY. But I had half the ORD catalog under my truck. Never disappointed. I'm sure DIY would be the same.

I picked the best of each company. ORD for crossover kit, engine crossmember, front shackles. Went DIY 4x for engine mounts, rear disc brake brackets, diff covers. Both have great service and great parts.

My shackle flip is from diy4x, my disc brake kit is from ruffstuff and all my steering is from wfo concepts for what its worth.

Pretty much the same for me... Minus the diff covers, and x-member.

I understand your thinking on it, but here's my take on it... ORD's version is a beefed up stock design.. which they have pics of a stock one waffled side to side.. but even tho ORD's is beefed, I think you are limited to how beefy you go due to the internal desgn... not to mention varying shackle length is tough...

whereas with Kert's, varying shackle length is a breeze... plus, how beefy the shackle is, is up to you... 3/8 thick? 1/2"? x-tied? wider? etc... all can be changed for added strength...

throw in a x-tied shackle is probably 1/2 the price of ORD's internal... just a simpler piece to make.. obviously ORD's works fine too... and was a much earlier design...

my.02........

I have both, but as has been stated, I prefer the look of the DIY ones.

I'm in the process of installing a skys offroad one right now it looks extremely beefy. And it also has two holes one for 52 and one for 56 inch springs so far the hard part is removing the old hangers and removing some backyard lift kit parts they installed.

I don't have any experience with ORD (yet) but ive. But Kert at DIY has always been great to buy from. I liked the fact that his shackles are female on both ends because i DD my truck but change the shackle angle when i go on a run. So it makes it a lot easier for me.

I bought crossover steering arms from ORD, and built my own shackle flip hangers, and shackles, similar to diy4x's. Also built my own mounts for 52's on the front. Really not that hard.
