I bought the greasable shackles from ORD about 6 weeks ago and right after putting them on I started greasing them and one of the pressed in grease zerks popped out of the bolt. Anybody else had this problem? I sent them two E-Mails with pictures but they never got back to me. Figured I would send my business somewhere else for now on.

I'm about to install mine and will watch for that.

They don't seem to get on email very much, but why not just call them? They've never hesitated to handle anything I've needed over the phone.

About a week After the second email I called, had a female answer stated she had another line going, was busy or something so took my name and number stating she would call me back, she didnt, just gave up after that, im done........

Thread the bolt for a thread in zerk instead. The bolts aren't hardened and can be tapped easily.

Thats another lengthy post if you ask about the integrity of drilled bolts holding your truck up.

same problem here. I'm gonna call them, i guess steven just got back into town, so I'll get to the bottom of this.

i dunno why ord used the press in zerks anyway, they obviously suck.

those bolts are too short anyway. they make half the shackle rest on the threads of the bolt, not the shank. i ordered them and never used 'em.

i just talked to james, and got some info reguarding this problem

he said that as the bolts are drilled, the bit dulls and makes a slightly larger hole that the zerks can pop out of. also, because they are pressed in, if the grease gun's fitting is pulled off from the side, this can loosen the zerk over time. His solution is to hit the bolt head with a dowel pin type punch around the zerk hole a few times. this will tighten the hole up. just a few light indentations, and then pop in a new zerk. he also metioned to be sure to use new zerks, because they are only ment to be pressed in once.

sounds good to me.

Nice, get a hammer and hit on it, thats after I go buy new zerks to fix there defective product. Im thinking I like the drill and tap method better. Like I said they lost my business, Im done with them. Customer service goes a long way if you want to keep someone as a customer, I guess they dont.

are you serious?

zerks are like 20 cents.?.

did you read my post?

customer service is exactly why i have just about every ORD product available. they offered to send me new bolts, but i figured it was no big deal.

No Im not serious, I have nothing better to do then spend my money on defective parts then try 3 different times to get ahold of the vendor who fails to respond. It has nothing to do with the money, maybe you should go back and read my posts, CUSTOMER SERVICE. Obviouslly you have had better luck than me so keep buying from them. Like I said Im done with them.

if those little grease nipples are ging you a hard time, how are you gonna deal with a bigger problem.

Happened to one of mine I hit a rock it happens, Nothing they can do for you about that really as they are pressed in. So you can order some or just pipe grease into the hole or put one in yourself but it will probably pop out too. Sorry for your misfourtune. As for them getting back to you well. They have been super busy the last month and a half, And on a skeleton crew for the last couple of weeks so. Keep e mailing them and or call them. They willl get to you

you see this is why i dont responed to theses threads i get tired of people who think that theyare the only person that matters but wait i just drive up and talk to them oh and i have never had any probs with any product i have gotten from them and they will always be the first place i go for my parts

I haven't had any probs with their parts, and like them very much! I am glad that I'm aware something could happen, but its an easy fix.

I bought my lift from them because if you call them you just about can't get off the phone with stephen at times. I think they are A#1 in my book. Learned to call instead of email.

I would encourage anyone to call.

The fun part about a small business in this part of the world and e-mail/internet

1. Sometimes we loose service for long time periods. Doesn't happen often but has affected my Construction work at times and I know ORD uses the same provider. Not a lot of fish in this small pond to deal with for service.

2. Spam Filters catch a larger number of e-mails than you think. They have tried to lower the protection but then they get Viruses.

3. I personally prefer talking to someone on the phone not in an email. It seems to be a bit more personal.

You bring up some valid points about the internet BUT starting a post here has nothing to do with e-mail and a spam filter. If someone ask a question right here and don't get a reply it's for one of two reasons, either someone from ORD hasn't been online to see the question OR they've seen it and didn't care to reply to it.

I have bought from ORD in the past and have just called and Stephen was VERY eager to help me with whatever i needed. I do have to agree with people though that if you're going to have a dedicated forum for questions and such then someone should be keeping up on the forum at least once a day (preferably in the evening once the "work" is done for the day) and then make a point to reply to all questions.
