Anyone have something like this? Found some on amazon in the 300$ range. This one closer to 600$.

My back is not the same as it used to be and a day of wrenching on anything is usually interrupted by breaks to stretch my back on the living room floor or cut short all together.
Please include pics if home built. I'm looking to maybe build one.

we have a cheepy at work and I have used it .

love it for working up there .

but it does work out your gut after you get down off it you will know why :haha: breathing laying on your gut is a work out . :thumb:

also I cant for the life of me recall the exact name of it . but there is more for big truck mechanics a stand / platform that hangs over semi truck tires half way up the hight to give you a place to stand and work .

they are nice, I have a buddy who is a mechanic for Ford does almost exclusively super dutys, dealer ship bought him one.

I have used it I want one:D

Man i wish i woulda had one of those, when i had the Beast!!!!
I couldnt tell you how many times I slipped, and slammed my stomach on the Core support.

One of those creeper would be great for my K5 and C20. I just get up on top of the core support and rest a hand on the air cleaner, intake, or cowl and try to work fast. The problem is that my shirt ends up around my ears and my dick gets all shriveled up. :dunno: I guess the blood is all rushing to my big head.

I have slipped off the bumper of my C20 plenty of times. At least it is stock height on 31" tires in the front. The K5 is on a 6" lift and 35's and I really don't want to slip off that. I wonder how high those creepers will go. I know the milk lugger or 5 gallon bucket routine. It is great for busting your ass. I used some big blocks of wood in the past but that can even be iffy. Don't get me started about that damn hood latch either.

At least I will be dropping my engine back into the C20 at my uncle's shop. He has a two step platform with a tool tray on the side. I just lean on the truck. It is nice but the one posted earlier looks better.

On my engine swap into the Zomburban I used two tires with wheels and a piece of expanded metal trailer tailgate across them to stand on. Stock bumper SUCKS to use as a step! Normally I would put a foot on the frame rail and shop rags on the core support so my other knee would be padded, but with the hood on its tough to be there for a while.

for my rigs, (paint is not an issue), I just use a 4 ft fiberglass step ladder
leaned up against the tire or front bumper/cowl support.... :D

I bought one, just received it yesterday, assembled and tested tonight. I gave it 4 of 5 in my Amazon review. Main problem is that it's not really designed with folding in mind. More a half implemented nod toward folding as an after thought. Still, as many of you know, my leg pain problems are a big part of why I'm not really active now. And this should (I hope) make things less painful so I can get my K5 back in operation once things cool off a bit. That's why I jumped on it so quick, and thanks for posting it up here!

I made a tire step thing out of one of those kitchen chairs that have a fold out step so you can use it for a stepladder to reach high shelves,etc..
I used an old lawnmower handle's curved sections to make hooks that fit over the tire, bolted it to the chairs tubing, ,and use the steps or the seat to stand on,..its crude but it works a lot better than a 5 gallon bucket or milk crate, that always slip out as you lean over and you end up getting your gonads smashed..:eek1: :doah:..

I have put fender covers on each fender and used a 2x10 plank as a seat when working on the distrubutor or intake before..beats slumping over the engine for an hour and having sore chest muscles and ribs for 2 weeks..
This works best with the hood off though,I'm 6'5" tall,so I get my skull caved in a lot..sucks being tall sometimes..
