Its amazing to me that they can design such a thing and not think that it was a bad idea to put one of the most common failing parts in the most hard to reach area of an engine????

and whats a surefire way to kill a starter? heat........ Ya so lets put the starter in virtually the hottest place on the engine that we can {Go GM engineering}

!

Wow! That starter placement is awful!!!! :eek1::doah:

The link to the OHC engine place does include 4 valve setups and bigblocks, look at the Porsche headed BBC for example!

Seems pretty cool to me, rather unnecessary and $$$$ but, cool nonetheless. Imagine a high revving 32 valve 572ci BBC!!! :thinking::pimp::bow:

The ZR1-LT5 was the same way...nice huh?

That idea has flopped many times over the last 40 years.

Nice find on that pic! I remember Hot Rod Magazine running an article on the Moser 4 valve years ago, and it was a flashback at the time!
Agreed, it's nothing that hasn't been done. 7500 rpm is easily attainable with a healthy small block, and it has been proven again and again. I have seen small block Chevys, pushrods and all, spin upwards of 10,500 and stay together. So as others here have said, we know why, but what is the point?

At least the Moser was a 4 valve engine. I just don't see the point with a 2 valve. technology has far surpassed the OHC era for the original SBC.

Arao (sp) had the nicest looking setup for the SBC on DHOC setups. I have seen in person one of the Nick Arias hemi head setups for the BBC. I need to look for the rocker arm pics I took.

Edit I found them
