did anyone see this C10 go for $150,000 at the hammer? Ridiculous and more so, because every damn C10 looks so similar nothing makes them stand out.
Ls, fancy interior, big wheels, skinny tires, baer or wilwood red calipers showing. It’s all so meh. Ill take my rough Blazer anyday. I bet the builder is stoked

People that look at any of those retarded auction companies (TV shows or otherwise) for true value of vehicles is a freaking moron. End of story

With different rims and tires I'd rock that truck 8 days a week...but not for $150K. I get that some of the full on shop builds cost 6 figures, but that's just not worth it to me. To someone else, clearly it was.

guy down the road has a round eye C30 single cab flatbed, original condition... $19,900. I think he's been watching the show.

$190k power wagon. Nuts.

Fixed it.
Correction, $190k for a power wagon body on a 95 ram chassis with a 12v cummins. Call it a restomod but it's not an original and the originals aren't going for that much. The modified cars are clearing more money than the stock counterparts except the ultra rare documented muscle cars. I watched a '56 Bel Air hard top go for $200k earlier and it was the typical recipe for a restomod tri-five, similar to the C10 up top with the same stuff they all seem to do. LS engine, ultra plush interior, aftermarket chassis and high level quality fit and finish. It's pretty common now. But not a lot of imagination going on.

The thing for me here is yes there are some unrealistic prices going on for a normal person. That screws us regular guys when we see a lump of iron in a side yard when the owner thinks they are sitting on a goldmine since they saw a similar car go for stupid money on one of the auctions. However, those goons probably aren't going to sell anyway because they were going to restore it or nobody has been dumb enough to fall for the silly inflated price they think it's worth. But if you go back and look at the docket for the first two days of the sale you might find much more reasonably priced rides within reach of more average Joe's.

I've got a nice bone stock 68 C10 sitting in my driveway waiting for one of these idiots with a lot of $$$ in his pocket...:woot:

V8-glide, wishbone rear on coils... :D
would make a nice builder for someone!

Last part you hit on something.

Mecum and Barrett Jackson are selling a huge amount of of cars.
They save the good shit for prime time.
You can buy a ton of stuff all day for 10-25k at the start of the day.

Doesn't anyone not think about the fact they didn't sell the bullet mustang or the John Force COPO Camaro at 10am.
Nope they waited for prime time.
Unfortunately that when people watch. And start threads about it on the forums.

Lol.

While I fully agree 90% of the vehicles they sell on tv at those auctions are insanely priced--I have seen a few unmolested originals that were in decent shape and mechanically restored sell for a reasonable price, like a '66 C-20 with a 250 six, three on the tree, excellent body, original paint, sell for $6500...you cant bring one from the dead for that price..
Unfortunately everyone who has a similar truck rotting away in their backyard now feels theirs is worth 6 grand too...it does ruin the hobby for us non millionaires ..

The first couple of days of the auction is for more regular folk IMO. Super Saturday is for the retarded stuff and insane money.

if i was ever to go to one of these things it would NOT be a barrett jackson event . heard to many story's of lie's being sold there .
