Any experience using paint stripper on a K5 rear roof (fiberglass)? i had a buddy of mine spray some duracoat on mine about 6 months ago, it looks like total s&!t so, im going to remove the duracoat (if i can get it off) and have it linexed.. anyone have any experience with paint stripper on that roof? thanks!

just don't want to leave it on forever and make sure you neutralize after with baking soda/water... the fiberglass version isn't quite as strong as Aircraft Stripper usually, but either is fine... you'll have to run over it with a DA after.... flatpad it with 80.....

thanks for the info!! you say "fiberglass version", was there a version that wasnt fiberglass? i quickly tried aircraft remover and goof off paint stripper on small spots, the aircraft remover worked much better..

I believe he's referring to stripper meant for fiberglass panels, as opposed to the normal aircraft stripper intended for steel panels. The steel stripper can also strip the fiberglass if you leave it on too long, and too long is a lot shorter time than you'd think. Citrustrip is pretty popular with the Corvette guys, though I prefer to use soda blasting for all paint removal. I've heard that the dustless blasting (basically a super duper pressure washer) works pretty good on fiberglass as well.
