Pressure washed it today. 185k original miles. Oil was last changed in 2016 and was due for its next one at a 187k miles.

I’m a strong advocate for keeping the tbi. They are simple and robust enough that I bet it wouldn’t take much to get it going. But, it is your truck lol.

I’m gonna give it a crack at staying tbi. I’ve never played with it so it’s new and scary but I bet I can figure it out. The only thing that’s got me nervous is if I need to replace parts I don’t know what’s reliable enough because everything I’ve ever read about TBI is it’s very finicky and particular to make it run right.
Shouldn't be too bad. We have a '95 light duty 3/4 ton with a 305 still running daily as a plant vehicle at my work. I bet everything on the fuel system is plugged up from the crap gas now days.
I'm told it needs a fuel pump and I can't hear it run when I turn the key. The whiff I got of the gas says it's gone bad. There's a giant dirt dobber nest built on top of one of the injectors that I don't know how much impact that has had. I'm contemplating unhooking the fuel lines at the motor and blowing compressed air in them to blow everything back to the tank and then squirting some kinda fuel cleaner down the lines to try and flush them. Drain the tank, new pump and sending unit, and then see what happens. Of course plugs and wires and other tune up odds and ends.
Two radios?
Old school. Radio controls are on the right of the dashboard and then the other radio stuff is the equalizer settings and cassette deck.
My kids ford was in a salvage yard at least 8 yrs. Changed both senders/pumps. Replaced one rusty tank and had to do all 8 injectors due to the bad gas. Got away with cleaning out the other tank but now its leaking at the straps due to rust. You might be able to clean your injectors.
Check the fuel pump relay on the firewall. Can try jumping power to the red wire and see if the pump kicks.
Yes. Was on the list to start there once I get voltage going through the system. Battery is on a charger to see if I can bring it back.

Played with my new toy tonight. Think I’m gonna bite the bullet and just order a new tank/hanger/pump.
Checked the fluids tonight and the oil and trans and coolant fluids all looked healthy. Poked the scope in the radiator and the passageways look clean and the coolant is a healthy green color. Poked the scope through the oil fill cap and didn’t see a bunch of gunk but couldn’t get it in very far.
Definitely a solid plan.
Yeah I agree. Do it while it’s down, then it’s peace of mind knowing it’s new.
